Magnificent Maine Coons

     Maine Coons come in many colors, except for solid lavenders, lilac, or browns. But here are some colors they do come in. Creams, red, black, white and blue.

                         
     Again Maine Coons come in many patterns, except for tipped, ticked or spotted. They do some in smoked, tabbies, solid, tortie, calico and bi-color.
     The Maine Coon has a broad body. They have wide ears with tufts of fur on the top. that is what Icall lynx ears. Maine Coons have round "feral" eyes. They have medium length neck and legs. They also have large feet and a fox-like tail.(see above) Maine Coons can weigh from 9-12 lbs (female) and 13-18 (male).

   The Maine Coons are probably one of the best family cats. They love to cuddle and get along with other pets very well. They can be goofy or funny and are very intelligent. Personaly, I am thinking about getting one (or two, or three). You never know.

                                               

Obediant Orientals

   Orientals are energetic and very lively cats. They are very intelligent and are also very social. The Orientals makes close bonds with their owners. The Orientals are very vocal cats, and also purr very loudly when happy. The Orientals are related to the Siamese cats. They originated from Siam (now called Thailand) and were traded to Britain.

   The Oriental has a unique body shape for a cat. With a wedge shaped head and large ears, longs legs and lean muscular body and not to forget the unforgettably long tail.

   The Oriental comes in many, many colors.Here they are: red, cream, blue, black, white, fawn cinnamon, chocolate and silver. If I am forgetting any please comment below and I will add them.

    The Oriental also comes in many patterns. Here they are: calico, tortoiseshell, bi-color, tuxedo, ticked, smoked, solid, tabby, pointed and lynx. The lynx pattern is one of my favorites. Well I think that covers all of it, have a nice day.

  

Make Your Own Cat Food

So I was thinking of what I could post and I remembered I had this book. It's called 'Homeade' from Readers Digest. So I thought there would be something interesting in there. Well while I was looking in the contents, I found HOW TO MAKE YOUR OWN CAT FOOD! It would probably be more healthy than the cat food you get in the store. So here it is.
2/3 cups of ground chicken or hamburger
1 jar of mixed vegetable baby food
1 cat vitamin, crumbled (optional)
1/3 cups of plain dry bread

1.In a small saucepan over medium heat, poach the ground meat in a small amount of water until medium rare. Remove from heat an allow to cool.

2.Stir together the meat, meat juices, vegetables, a vitamin if desired. Form into bite-size balls and roll into bread crumbs.

3. Serve as much as your cat will eat in one sitting. Store the rest in a covered container in the fridge for up to three days.

                                      

Humble Havana Browns

The Havana Browns may have a glossy brown coat. But when they are kittens, they have ghostly tabby marking. It take about 2 yrs. for their coat to become fully brown. They also have only one eye color- green. It really compliments their coat color. The Havana Brown has a wedge shaped head, a slender body and long legs- am I ringing a bell? Because the Havana brown's has Siamese for part of their breed ancestry.

     The Havana Browns don't need much coat care, even in shedding season. They only have one coat, so they don't shed. You can just pet them to groom them.

     The Havana Browns are shy but affectionate. They are best in single owner homes, but also make wonderful family cats. They also get along with dogs and other cats- and kids. They are lively but not as hyper as the Siamese. They are very smart cats.

Raw Stuffed Mushrooms

This recipe is from "Alive In 5" by Angella Elliot. Here goes...
1 pound of fresh mushrooms
1 bell pepper, diced
1 cup pitted raw olives
1 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil
2 tbsp minced fresh basil
1 1/2 tbsp freshly squeezed lemon juice
1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper

Clean the mushrooms.Carefully remove the stems and set the caps aside. Place stems in food processor along with the bell pepper, olives, oil, basil, lemon juice, and black pepper, and pulse to chop. Divide the mixture equally among the mushroom caps and serve. Think I might have some stuffed mushrooms for lunch.
