Brilliant British Shorthair

   The British shorthair is a magnificent cat to own. They are more popular in Europe because that is where they are mostly bred. The British shorthair is an easy going breed . They are happy as indoor cats and are not a hyperactive breed. They still do like to play when they feel like it.The British shorthair are a good pet for people who work long hours. They do enjoy another cat companion that is mellow like themselves. They usually don't like to be held, just petted, but some British shorthairs do like to be held. The British shorthair is a very smart breed.
   The British shorhair comes in alot more colors and patterns then just a solid blue. They come in black, red, cinnamon, chocolate, lilac, fawn, calico, tortoiseshell, bi-color, tabby and colorpoint.

   The British shorthair doesn't have much care needs concerning the coat care. Occasional brushing is advised, especially during shedding season. The British shorthair is prone to obesity when it gets neutered/spayed or when it is an indoor cat, so pay attention to their diet.
